It's Only Getting Better!

So things are only getting better for us! We couldn't be happier with the way things are happening and falling into place!
Scott's job is going great, it took a little while for him well us to get used to the hours but all in all its a great opportunity for him. He will also be starting school in August which is very exciting! He is so ready to start school which us funny to hear when he says it.
As for me work got a little rocky after my last post, there was some miscommunitcation about my pay and hours but its all worked out now and things are going great! I am staying super busy & I took my first continuing education class through them and I loved it!
We just got back from Crossroads summer camp with the youth and that was AMAZING! We love spending time with them and getting to watch God move in their lives and seeing them grow. It got us every excited for the day when Scott is a youth pastor and I am the youth pastors wife and we have our own youth group. However it also makes us sad to know that the possiblitity of having to leave this youth group. They really are like a family to us and they each have a special place in our hearts.
Well upcoming events.....this saturday we are going to look at an apartment that we will hopefully be getting within the next month or two. It will more than likely be 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms its huge and a really good price that we can afford. I well we are extremely excited about finally having our own place! We are just praying that this apartment does come opend and we get approved!
Thats pretty much it for an update on us!

Looking Up

Well things seem to be looking up for us! Two weeks ago I started working at Massage Envy in Concord, this is great for us! I am working a lot and am always busy which makes me more happy! Also with this I get benefits and get paid hourly which is good for me since I am still sort of new at this and don't have a clientele built up yet. This is also a place that has locations all over the U.S. so if we have to move I have a better chance at having a job where we go right away.

Scott will be starting a new job in about a week. He will be working with Schwans Food Company this will also be giving benefits and he will be put on a salary! And he will still get to go to school one day a week. We are finishing up sending in the last things of his application, he has already been approved for acceptance he just has to send in a few more things.

This means it's time to start looking for our own place! :) FINALLY!! Granite it will only be an apartment for now but its going to be our own place with nobody else living with us, or rather us living with them. We decided on an apartment because number one it's cheaper eventhough we could probably afford a small house we don't want to take on too much at one time. Number two, we don't know where we will need to be once Scott gets done with college. We may have to move to Raleigh to do seminary we are not sure yet and with the economy the way it is we would hate to buy a house and 3 or 4 years later try to sell it. So right now an apartment is our best option. We have narrowed it down to 3 complexes in Salisbury by searching online and in about 2 months after we have both brought in some paychecks we will go do tours and talk to people about them and decide where to go from there.

So we are excited that things are finally looking up and falling into place and I will be sure to keep you posted as often as I can!

Catch Up

Wow it has been a really long time since I have updated this! I think that I almost forgot I had one of these! That just goes to show that things have been crazy & busy! So here is my attempt at catching the world up on us.

Well first of all we have learned first hand that God's plans and our plans are not always the same. We had our hearts set on leaving in January for Wake Forest so that Scott could start school at the College at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary well that is clearly not where God wanted us. Through a series of set backs time after time we finally accepted it and started praying about where God wanted us. So as of now we have been moved back in with his parents for about 2 months now. I am in the process of finding a new job and he should be starting school at John Wesley Bible College in High Point in the Fall.

I was not making enough money to help out with bills & save money to move so we were pretty much living paycheck to paycheck and not getting to save anything did not put us on track to move anywhere. We decided moving back in with his parents would be best because not only would we be able to save but it was closer to his work so he can work more hours. We tried and tried but Southeastern was just to expensive for us so we looked into other schools and John Wesley has truely been a God-send. They not only except government money but also will provide us with a good amount of financial aid. On top of that he will only have to be at school one day a week so he will have the rest of the week to work!

Long story short about my job....I prayed about whether it was truely the place that God wanted me to be and 3hours later I was in my bosses office getting let go. Which was a big blessing in disguise. It got me out of a drama filled workplace that I was staying in only because I was scared to look elsewhere. This forced me to look and see what else was out there. I am currently waiting to here back from an interview.

We plan to find a place to rent once I get a new job and stay around here until Scott is done with school then we will see what plans God has instore for us after that!

All married and settled in!

I am sorry that it has been so long since i have given an update but things have been rather hectic.

On July 11,2009 we finally got married! It was beautiful, everything went as planned. Neither of us puked! :) I must say it was the second best day of my life and I could not be happier and I am pretty possitive Scott would agree!

The honeymoon was also AMAZING! We went to Gatinburg, TN for a week and it was beautiful. We hiked part of the App. Trail and we went and walked around Gatinburg and of course played putput and I almost beat Scott once but he won everytime. I will beat him again one day! We also went into Pigeon Forge and ate the best dinner ever at the Alamo we highly recommend it.

Once back from the honeymoon we had a couple days for laundry then it was off to Crossroads summer camp with the youth. It was amazing we got to see God work in the lives of our youth in many ways.

When we got back from Crossroads we realized that He was preparing our hearts for a change of plans. We found out that the loan didn't come through for us to pay his tuition on time because I couldnt prove I would have a job in September. So we had to quickly come up with a plan B and we decided to stay here and save up until spring semester. A couple in our church have graciously let us rent out their basement apartment in Statesville. So now once I pass my Mblex exam and start working and with him working we will be able to save up and not need a loan in the spring which is awesome!

We moved in on August 2 and officially got settled in the next day it is very nice we love it. It's nice to have our own space and ease our way into the real world now it won't be so hard when we move to Raleigh!

So all in all God has greater plans than we do and we just have to keep remembering to trust Him and it will all work out! And so far married life is ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!!

Boone

So this weekend we went to Boone to get away. It was amazing. Mountains are our favorite place to get away it's so beautiful, breath taking, and humbling. Our goal or dream is to one day live in the mountains. We got to watch the sunset over the Blue Ridge Parkway that was the most beautiful thing that I have ever seen in my life. The thing we talked about all weekend was how can people not believe in our awesome God after they seen things like that.
As far as our wedding planning is going we have picked out our invitations and are working on getting those done. We still have to meet about flowers and our photos and tell them what we want and all that stuff. We have started collecting boxes. As soon as the weather gets hot and stays hot we will start packing up winter clothes and going through things to sell at our yard sale that we are going to have before we move.
We only have like 3months until the big day and we are both really excited and cant wait!

Getting ready for the big day!

So the big day is less than 4months away but we already have so much done and yet so much left to do. We officially have a place to live; it's small but it will do for a first apartment. We still have to register for gifts which we have been putting off way too long as well as finalize things like a reception hall and flowers! haha those to should have already been done. Within the next month or so we will begin packing so anyone who would like to get rid of some boxes we would gladly take them! I believe that once packing begins it will really hit us both that we will be moving 3 hours away from all that we know. In a way I am really excited to be moving that far because I kind of get to start fresh but I am also scared because I'm leaving all I've ever known kinda. But the one thing I am sure of is that I cannot wait to marry the love of my life and go on this journey with him!
